The Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, are marking the one-year milestone until the release of *Avengers: Doomsday* with

an official countdown. This film marks their return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after it was revealed in 2024 that

they would be directing two pivotal movies in The Multiverse Saga.

To celebrate the upcoming 2026 release of *Avengers: Doomsday*, the Russo brothers have shared a teaser featuring a

countdown clock.

Currently, trailers for *Avengers: Doomsday* are being screened before showings of *Avatar: Fire and Ash*. A new teaser

is being rotated into theaters each week. Principal photography for this Phase 6 installment concluded in September,

with additional photography sessions scheduled for spring 2026.

*Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, is the only other MCU film slated for release before

*Avengers: Doomsday*. This will be Holland's first appearance as Spider-Man since 2021. His potential involvement in

*Avengers: Doomsday* next December remains uncertain.

Following Jonathan Majors' departure, Victor von Doom will become the central antagonist of The Multiverse Saga. Robert

Downey Jr. will portray Doctor Doom, a role he was announced for at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 for both new Avengers

films.

The Russo brothers are also preparing for *Avengers: Secret Wars*, with filming scheduled to commence next summer. In

addition to Doctor Doom, the core cast of *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* are confirmed to appear in the Phase 6

finale, following their debut in *Avengers: Doomsday*.
