Hyderabad police have filed a chargesheet naming actor Allu Arjun as an accused in connection with a stampede that
occurred during a pre-release event for 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' in December 2024. The incident at Sandhya Theatre resulted
in the death of a woman and injuries to others. Allu Arjun has been charged with abetment, with police alleging that his
arrival, along with other cast members, triggered a surge of fans leading to the tragic event. The chargesheet lists 23
accused, with the Sandhya Theatre management cited as the primary accused and Allu Arjun as Accused No. 11.
The chargesheet, filed in the IX additional chief metropolitan magistrate court in Nampally, states that the stampede
occurred due to inadequate crowd control measures during the promotional event. The event took place between 10:30 pm
and 11:00 pm, coinciding with Allu Arjun's presence at the theatre. The deceased, Revathi, received CPR from police
before being transported to a hospital, where she later died. A young boy injured in the incident was also revived by
police and taken to a hospital for treatment.
This development raises questions about the potential impact on Allu Arjun's career and the highly anticipated 'Pushpa
2: The Rule.' Allu Arjun is a major star in Telugu cinema (Tollywood) and enjoys a pan-Indian following, significantly
boosted by the success of the first 'Pushpa' film. The 'Pushpa' franchise, known for its action, drama, and Allu Arjun's
charismatic performance, has become a significant commercial property. The first film, 'Pushpa: The Rise,' grossed over
₹350 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2021. Its success transcended regional
boundaries, achieving popularity in Hindi-speaking markets as well.
The controversy surrounding the stampede and the subsequent charges against Allu Arjun could potentially affect the
reception of 'Pushpa 2.' While the film is still highly anticipated, the negative publicity could impact audience
sentiment. The legal proceedings could also distract Allu Arjun from promotional activities, potentially affecting the
film's marketing campaign. The film's release date and promotional strategies will likely be closely watched in the
coming months as the legal case unfolds. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safety and crowd
management at public events, particularly those involving popular celebrities. The outcome of the legal proceedings and
the public's response will be critical factors in determining the long-term impact on Allu Arjun's career and the
