Pakistan's Under-19 cricket team secured a resounding victory over India in the Asia Cup final held at the ICC Academy

Ground in Dubai, claiming their first title in 13 years and only their second overall in the tournament's history.

Pakistan's dominant performance saw them post a formidable 347 for eight before dismantling India's batting lineup,

bowling them out for a mere 156 in just 26.2 overs, resulting in a comprehensive 191-run win.

However, the triumph has been somewhat overshadowed by allegations of inappropriate behavior from the Indian players

during the match. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi has stated his intention to formally approach the

International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding what he described as "provocative behavior" from the Indian U19 team.

Speaking at a reception hosted by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the victorious team, Naqvi emphasized the

need to keep sports and politics separate, asserting that the Indian players' actions were a breach of this principle.

Naqvi’s concerns were echoed by former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who previously led the team to victory in the

2017 Champions Trophy final against India. Sarfaraz criticized India's conduct during the Asia Cup final, labeling it

"unethical" and against the spirit of cricket. He stated that despite the alleged provocations, the Pakistani team

celebrated their victory with sportsmanship.

This is not the first instance of on-field conduct becoming a point of contention between the two cricketing nations.

During the senior men's T20 Asia Cup held in Dubai in September, both the PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in

India (BCCI) raised concerns and lodged complaints with the ICC regarding player behavior across multiple matches,

including the final. These incidents highlight the persistent tension and scrutiny surrounding India-Pakistan cricket

encounters.

Notably, during the senior T20 Asia Cup, India's Suryakumar Yadav faced a fine for comments deemed to have brought the

game into disrepute, while Jasprit Bumrah received an official warning for breaching the Code of Conduct in the final.

From the Pakistan side, Haris Rauf was fined twice and handed a two-match ban for "provocative" celebrations, and

Sahibzada Farhan was reprimanded for a gesture.

The PCB’s decision to potentially escalate the issue to the ICC underscores the importance they place on maintaining

standards of sportsmanship and ethical conduct in cricket, particularly in high-profile matches involving India and

Pakistan. The outcome of any potential ICC review could set a precedent for future encounters between the two teams,

emphasizing the need for players to adhere to the spirit of the game, regardless of the intensity of the rivalry.
