To celebrate its 12th anniversary, OnePlus has released two new devices in India: the OnePlus 15R smartphone and the

OnePlus Pad Go 2 tablet. The OnePlus 15R is designed with mobile gamers in mind, while the Pad Go 2 is geared towards

students and young professionals. Here's a breakdown of their features and how they stack up against previous models.

### OnePlus 15R: Features and Specifications

The OnePlus 15R has been one of the most anticipated devices from the company this year. The smartphone is the first to

use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. Accompanying the new chipset is 12 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage,

available in 256 GB and 512 GB options.

Powering the device is a large 7400 mAh Silicon Carbon battery, the largest ever in a OnePlus phone, promising extended

gaming sessions or up to two days of moderate use. It supports 80W SuperVOOC charging and bypass charging to minimize

battery strain during long gaming sessions. The OnePlus 15R operates on OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16, with OnePlus

guaranteeing four major Android updates and six years of security updates.

The phone is available in Charcoal Black, Mint Breeze (light green), and Electric Violet. The Charcoal Black and Mint

Breeze versions feature Velvet Glass technology for a smudge and scratch-resistant back. The Electric Violet variant,

constructed from fiberglass, has a special coating that imprints the word ACE in the design. The design follows

OnePlus's 2025 aesthetic, featuring a squarish camera island at the back and resembles a larger version of the 13s,

sharing dimensions with the Nord 5.

The OnePlus 15R features a large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1272 pixels and 1800 nit

brightness (HBM). The HDR10+ compliant screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Similar to the flagship OnePlus

15, the 15R boasts a 165 Hz refresh rate. A dedicated Touch Response Chip offers a 3200 Hz touch sampling rate. The

360-degree Cryo Velocity Cooling System provides thermal protection.

For photography, the 15R includes a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a Sony IMX906 sensor,

along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 32MP selfie camera, both lacking auto-focus. The camera setup is less

comprehensive than its predecessor and the more affordable Nord 5, which included auto-focus on both its ultra-wide and

50MP front camera.

### OnePlus 15R vs OnePlus 13R: Key Differences

While the OnePlus 15R brings several upgrades, it also has a few drawbacks compared to the 13R. The 15R lacks a

dedicated telephoto camera, which was present in the 13R, and retains a similar 50MP + 8MP setup. However, the selfie

camera has been upgraded with double the megapixels. The 15R offers improvements in processing power, battery, storage,

and display.

The OnePlus 15R features a generational upgrade in processing power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to Gen 5. Storage

specifications have been enhanced from UFS 4.0 to 4.1, and the display now supports a higher refresh rate of 165 Hz

compared to 120 Hz. The 13R display supported Dolby Vision, which is not present in the 15R.

Battery capacity has increased from 6000 mAh to 7400 mAh, with similar charging times using the bundled 80W SuperVOOC

charger. Ingress protection has been upgraded from IP65 to IP69. The OnePlus 15R is also the first R series phone to

feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. These upgrades justify the increase in price.

### OnePlus Pad Go 2: Features and Specifications

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 is designed as an affordable tablet for students, young professionals, and casual users. Unlike

other models, it offers a cellular/5G variant. It represents a significant upgrade over the original Pad Go, with

improvements to processing power, display, and battery capacity.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 features a larger 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2800 x 1980 pixels and a

brightness of 900 nits. The refresh rate has been increased from 90 Hz to 120 Hz for smoother scrolling. Its 7:5 aspect

ratio is suitable for reading. The tablet also supports a stylus, with the OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo (sold separately)

offering low latency, high sensitivity, and fast charging, providing half a day of power with just ten minutes of

charging.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Ultra SoC, a significant upgrade from the Helio G99 in the

Pad Go. It includes 8 GB of RAM and options for 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, with a MicroSD card slot

for expansion. The 5G option is exclusively available on the top-tier variant.

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 is available in Lavender Drift and Shadow Black, featuring a smooth matte finish. Despite being 6.8

mm slim, it houses a 10050 mAh battery with 33W fast charging and reverse charging capabilities. OnePlus claims 15 hours

of video playback, 53 hours of music playback, and 60 days of standby time.

The Pad Go 2 runs on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, and includes AI tools like AI Writer, AI Recorder, and AI Summary.

OxygenOS 16 also provides access to Open Canvas for multitasking, allowing users to switch between up to three windows

with two apps open and a third in a floating window.
