The glasses can last up to eight hours on a full charge, while fast charging can restore 50 per cent of the battery

charge in just 20 minutes. The bundled charging case extends usage significantly with up to 48 hours of backup power.

New video modes, like hyperlapse and slow-motion, are expected to arrive through software updates, giving users more

creative control over their content.

Meta is also refreshing the design and fashion elements of the smart glasses. Gen 2 models will be available in popular

Ray-Ban silhouettes such as the classic Wayfarer, the contemporary Skyler, and the stylish Headliner. Fresh seasonal

shades, including shiny cosmic blue, shiny mystic violet, and shiny asteroid grey, will add more personalisation options

for buyers, alongside limited edition variants.

A major upgrade comes from Meta AI, which now offers more practical help throughout the day. With a simple “Hey Meta”,

wearers can request information, manage media, respond to messages, or capture hands-free photos and videos. The glasses

are also built to be more effective in noisy surroundings through a feature called Conversation Focus, which enhances

speech clarity. Another key development for India is the introduction of full Hindi support, allowing users to

communicate with Meta AI comfortably in the language.

Meta recently expanded the experience further by rolling out Celebrity AI Voice—letting users choose how their AI

assistant sounds. Among the voices available is Deepika Padukone’s AI avatar, joining a lineup of well-known

personalities offering a more personalised, culturally familiar interaction.

Meta is also experimenting with UPI-Lite payments through the glasses, in collaboration with WhatsApp. The feature,

expected to be rolled out soon, will allow users to initiate secure transactions hands-free. Simply glancing at a QR

code and saying “Hey Meta, scan and pay” would be enough for the payment to go through using the user’s linked bank

account—making purchases faster and removing the need to reach for a phone.
