Supercomputer predicts result of Manchester United vs West Ham in Premier League
West Ham look set for a difficult trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on Thursday.
The Hammers had their three-match unbeaten streak snapped when Liverpool beat West Ham 2-0 at the London Stadium on
Sunday, and need to do what they can against the Red Devils to bounce back.
West Ham are battling for Premier League survival this season, and even taking a point back to East London could be seen
Nuno Espirito Santo has lifted hopes around E20 since his arrival, but even he may be powerless in steering West Ham to
Manchester United heavy favourites against West Ham
West Ham want to sign new players in January, with the transfer market now just weeks away from opening again.
The Irons are currently sitting 17th in the table after 13 games have been played, with only the teams below them to
thank for their underperformances.
However, Man United may prove too big a task for Nuno and the Hammers, because according to Opta’s Supercomputer, the
Red Devils have a 59.3 per cent chance of victory.
The Irons will be up against it, but Manchester United have had their fair share of unexpected Premier League results go
against them already this season.
The Hammers will also be without one star man, with Lucas Paqueta set to miss the game through suspension.
Nuno needs to allow Man United to have possession
The only way West Ham get a point, or three against Manchester United, is if they set up to counter-attack.
Because of this, it would be best for Nuno to set the Hammers up in a five at the back formation, and try and utilise
Malick El Hadji Diouf and Aaron Wan-Bissaka out wide.
West Ham are no strangers to defying the Odds at Old Trafford, as in the same fixture last season, the Irons won 2-0
In the match, the Red Devils had the majority of possession and doubled West Ham’s shot tally.
Regardless, the Hammers won, and the blueprint for victory is already there for Nuno.
