As many as 42 IndiGo flights - including 22 arrivals and 20 departures - were cancelled at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda

International Airport on December 3, causing inconvenience to passengers, sources told Moneycontrol.

Sources said arrivals from sectors such as Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Goa, Kolkata and Lucknow were cancelled.

Departures to Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad were among those affected. On December 2, 20

IndiGo flights were cancelled at the airport.

IndiGo was unavailable for comment.

An airport source said the cancellations were due to operational reasons. Many affected passengers took to social media

to express their frustration.

On December 2, three Air India Express flights from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Nagpur were delayed due to

technical glitches.

On November 29, IndiGo had issued a statement saying: “IndiGo is undertaking all required inspections and updates to its

A320 family aircraft in full accordance with directives issued by EASA and Airbus. Working closely with both

organisations, a total of 200 of our aircraft were identified for these checks. We are pleased to confirm that the

required actions have already been completed on 160 aircraft by 12:00 IST, and inspections on the remaining aircraft are

progressing well and will be completed within the timeline.”

The airline added: “We would also like to confirm that no flights have been cancelled as a result of these checks.

However, a few flights may experience minimal delays. We request customers to check the latest flight status or connect

with our contact centre before heading to the airport to help reduce any inconvenience.”
