Following Real Madrid’s emphatic 3–0 victory over Athletic Club, Fede Valverde spoke to the media , highlighting the

collective performance and the spirit within the squad.

“I’m very happy to be part of this team, it’s an honor to have these teammates and to keep improving as a team,”

Valverde said.

Valverde also singled out the team’s second goal—a sweeping move that carved through Athletic’s structure. “The second

goal was spectacular, a beautiful move in which most of the players were involved,” he noted.

Beyond the scoring plays, the Uruguayan made sure to highlight the performance of Thibaut Courtois, who produced several

decisive saves to preserve Madrid’s dominance. “We have to highlight Courtois’ saves,” he said.

Valverde wore the captain’s armband once again—something that continues to fill him with pride and responsibility.

“Wearing the captain’s armband is fantastic,” he said. “I try to bring out my best, and in recent matches it’s been

difficult not to do so.

“I train to bring out the best in myself. I appreciate the support of my teammates, who always make me smile, and the

coaching staff for trusting in me.”
