Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is one of the most-awaited movies. While the trailer of the movie has already left everyone
excited, details about the film’s plot have now been revealed. Recently, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC)
granted an ‘Adult Only – A’ certificate to Dhurandhar. The certificate also went viral on social media when netizens
noticed that it also mentions the film’s plot. It reveals that the film revolves around the Kandahar Hijack of December
“Set against the backdrop of the IC-814 hijacking in 1999 and the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the film follows
India’s Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajay Sanyal, who crafts a daring and indomitable mission to infiltrate and dismantle a
powerful terrorist network operating out of Pakistan. To execute this high-risk operation, Sanyal recruits an unlikely
asset – a 20-year-old boy from Punjab, held captive for committing a revenge-driven crime. Recognising the boy’s
potential and raw intensity, Sanyal decides to mould him into a weapon capable of penetrating Karachi’s ruthless
underworld mafia," film’s plot, as described on the certificate, reads.
Interestingly, a series named ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’ was also released in 2024 and is currently streaming on
Netflix. It stars Vijay Varma with Patralekha, Pankaj Kapur, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Dia Mirza among others.
Meanwhile, talking about Dhurandhar, the film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role alongside Sara Arjun. While the film
is said to be the most violent one from Indian cinema, fans are lauding the Hollywood-level scale on which the story is
visualised. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R Madhavan in important roles.
Although there is no official announcement as of yet, reportedly, it was previously reported that the makers plan to
make Dhurandhar a two-part saga, with part two releasing in the first half of 2026. “There have been reports that
Dhurandhar is a two-part saga. Hence, the film, which will be released on December 5, will be the first installment.
It’ll end at a decisive point and the story will then continue in the second part," a source close to the film told
Bollywood Hungama recently.
Dhurandhar will hit the big screens on December 5, 2025.
