The film 'Dhurandhar,' starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, has slowed its box office pace after a remarkable
two-week run. Released on December 5th, the Aditya Dhar-directed movie has broken records, surpassing the second-week
earnings of both 'Pathaan' (₹446.2 crore) and 'Gadar 2' (₹419.1 crore), according to Sacnilk.
Notably, 'Dhurandhar' raked in ₹253 crore during its second week, exceeding its first-week collection of ₹207.25 crore –
a rare feat. However, its performance began to dip on Thursday, continuing into Friday. On its fifteenth day,
'Dhurandhar' earned ₹2.98 crore by afternoon, bringing its total collection to ₹463.48 crore.
This slowdown coincides with the release of 'Avatar: Fire And Ash,' which is generating strong advance bookings.
Projections estimate an opening day of over ₹30 crore (over $3.5 million) for 'Avatar: Fire And Ash.' In comparison,
'Avatar: Way of Water' grossed nearly ₹50 crore on its opening day in 2022 and went on to earn approximately ₹500 crore
during its theatrical run. As of Friday afternoon, 'Avatar: Fire And Ash' had already earned ₹3.33 crore and is expected
to exceed ₹30 crore on its first day. 'Avatar Fire and Ash' appears to have an edge over 'Dhurandhar' on its opening
Despite the competition from the new release, 'Dhurandhar' continues to compete in its third week.
