Zimbabwe to host tri-series ahead of U19 World Cup 2026

Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, and Pakistan will participate in a U19 tri-nation series in Zimbabwe prior to the ICC U19 World Cup in January-February 2026.
Zimbabwe is set to host Afghanistan and Pakistan in a tri-nation series as part of their preparations for the ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup 2026. The tournament itself is scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15th to February 6th.
The tri-series will commence on December 25th at the Harare Sports Club with a match between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. Afghanistan will then face Pakistan on December 27th, also at Harare Sports Club. The action shifts to Prince Edward School on December 29th, where Zimbabwe will play Pakistan. Zimbabwe will then meet Afghanistan again on December 31st at Sunrise Sports Club.
Sunrise Sports Club will also host the match between Afghanistan and Pakistan on January 2nd. The final round-robin game, featuring Zimbabwe against Pakistan, will be held at Old Hararians Sports Club on January 4th. The final of the tri-series will also take place at Old Hararians.
Givemore Makoni, the Managing Director of Zimbabwe Cricket, emphasized the importance of the tri-series in providing competitive experience for Zimbabwe's young cricketers before the World Cup. He stated that facing strong Under-19 teams like Afghanistan and Pakistan would give their players valuable match practice in preparation for a major global event held on their home ground.
