The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently celebrated a momentous occasion, welcoming the triumphant Indian Blind Women's Cricket Team to its headquarters in Mumbai. The team's visit, which took place on December 19, 2025, served as an opportunity for the BCCI to formally recognize their outstanding achievement in winning the inaugural Women's T20 World Cup for the Blind.
Mr. Raghuram Bhat, the Honorary Treasurer of the BCCI, greeted the team upon their arrival. He conveyed the Board's sincere congratulations and interacted with the players, acknowledging their remarkable performance on the global stage.
India's journey to the World Cup title was marked by unwavering dominance. They maintained a spotless record throughout the tournament, culminating in a decisive victory against Nepal in the final match. The Indian team successfully chased down a target of 115 runs in just 12.1 overs, securing the win by 7 wickets.
The BCCI extended its congratulations to the team's captain, Deepika TC, as well as the entire squad and support staff, for their exceptional efforts. Mr. Devajit Saikia, the Honorary Secretary of the BCCI, also addressed the team virtually, pledging the board's support by providing playing kits and covering travel expenses for future cricket tours.
