A video circulating on social media shows a chaotic scene that unfolded late at night at Bastian, a Bengaluru pub partly owned by Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.
The CCTV footage reveals that around 1:30 AM, two groups of customers became embroiled in a dispute. The argument escalated, involving shouting and some jostling. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. reports indicate that no serious physical altercations took place.
Bastian Hospitality, founded by businessman Ranjit Bindra, owns the Bastian pub. Shilpa Shetty acquired a 50% stake in the establishment in 2019.
In related news, Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, recently petitioned the Bombay High Court to dismiss a 60-crore fraud case. They are accused of diverting approximately 60 crore rupees from Kundra's Best Deal TV for their personal use.
Their petition states: “The petitioner has always been a law-abiding citizen and has no other criminal antecedents, bearing the criminal proceedings which have been initiated recently, one after another, including the present FIR, which is the subject matter of the petition. The petitioner seeks appropriate relief in view of the gross miscarriage of justice and violation of fundamental rights.” Senior advocate Prashant Pati filed the petition on behalf of the couple.
