Following the massive success of 'Dhurandhar,' what's next for Ranveer Singh? From 'Don 3' to a zombie thriller, here's a look at his upcoming films.
Ranveer Singh's career has reached new heights with the phenomenal success of "Dhurandhar." Aditya Dhar's directorial venture, a spy action film, premiered a week ago to an overwhelmingly positive reception and has significantly boosted Singh's standing in Bollywood.
"Dhurandhar" has taken the box office by storm, earning over 500 crore worldwide in just ten days. Its current performance suggests it could surpass "Kantara Chapter 1" (850+ crore gross) to become the highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
Now that "Dhurandhar" has provided Ranveer with the major hit he needed, the industry is buzzing about his future projects. Among them is "Dhurandhar Part 2," already filmed and slated for release on March 19, 2026. Anticipation for the sequel is incredibly high, with trade experts predicting it will be a major blockbuster in what is expected to be a record-breaking year for Indian cinema.
The decision to create "Dhurandhar 2" came as a surprise, as the film was initially conceived as a single, self-contained story. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. due to its extended length, the filmmakers chose to divide it into two parts. In addition to the "Dhurandhar" sequel, Singh is also set to star in Farhan Akhtar's "Don 3."
The reboot of the iconic "Don" franchise, with Ranveer Singh taking over the lead role from Shah Rukh Khan, was announced some time ago. While some initially questioned whether Singh could successfully portray the character, the immense success of "Dhurandhar" has quelled those doubts and made "Don 3" one of the most eagerly awaited upcoming films.
Production for "Don 3" is expected to commence in January 2026, with a global release planned for late 2026 or sometime in 2027. Following this, Singh will venture into the zombie genre with "Pralay," a film directed by Jai Mehta. While an official announcement is pending, reliable sources confirm Singh's involvement in the project.
Zombie thrillers have not been extensively explored in Indian cinema, and Ranveer Singh is expected to bring his unique energy to the genre. The film reportedly centers on a man's struggle to protect his family as Mumbai is overrun by zombies. "Pralay" is expected to be a VFX-heavy film and a potentially exciting addition to Singh's filmography.
Currently, Ranveer Singh has these three projects lined up. Recent reports also indicate that he and Aditya Dhar have discussed a mythological film, potentially marking their next collaboration after "Dhurandhar 2." Details about this project are scarce, but it appears to be in the works. Stay tuned for further updates.
