Joshua Dorne will lead the West Indies at the Under-19 World Cup in Zimbabwe and Namibia in 2026. Jewel Andrew, a senior national team player, is also in the squad.

Joshua Dorne, a top-order batter, has been selected to captain the West Indies team at the Men's Under-19 World Cup, which will be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia in January and February 2026. Jonathan Van Lange, an all-rounder, will serve as his vice-captain.

The 15-member squad also includes Jewel Andrew, a 19-year-old batter who has already gained experience playing for the senior West Indies national team. Andrew has participated in three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The West Indies are heading into the Under-19 World Cup after competing in two seven-match Youth ODI series on their home ground against Sri Lanka and England. Dorne was the leading run-scorer in both series, followed by Van Lange as the next highest scorer for the West Indies. Several other players who participated in both series, including Zachary Carter, Matthew Miller, Jakeem Pollard, Shaquan Belle, and Vitel Lawes, have also earned spots on the World Cup squad.

During the ten matches played across the series against Sri Lanka and England, Pollard impressed by taking 18 wickets at an average of 16.27. Belle claimed 15 wickets in nine matches. Lawes, after securing only one wicket in three matches against England, bounced back strongly with 14 wickets at an average of 14.92 in six matches against Sri Lanka.

Dwain Gill, CWI's High-Performance Manager, stated that the selection process focused on aligning the team's development with the playing style expected at the senior level. He emphasized ensuring exposure to high-quality match opportunities and placing a strong emphasis on leadership, tactical awareness, and individual support within their respective territories.

At the Under-19 World Cup, the West Indies find themselves in Group D, where they will compete against South Africa, Afghanistan, and Tanzania. Their campaign will begin on January 15 in Windhoek against Tanzania.
