What happens if the U19 Asia Cup semifinal between India and Sri Lanka is washed out due to rain? Tournament rules explained. #U19AsiaCup

The ACC Under-19 Asia Cup semifinal between India and Sri Lanka is scheduled for Friday at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. persistent rain in Dubai is threatening to disrupt the match. This raises the question: what will happen if the game is called off due to weather?

India Under-19 has been dominant in the tournament, securing their spot in the semifinals of the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025. The team started their Group A campaign with a massive 234-run victory over the UAE, posting an impressive 433 for 6. They followed this up with a convincing 90-run win against Pakistan, bowling them out for 150 after scoring 240. India then sealed their position at the top of Group A with a crushing 315-run victory over Malaysia, reaching 408 for 7 before dismissing their opponents for just 93.

Sri Lanka Under-19 secured their place in the semifinals through a series of competitive performances in Group B. They began with an eight-wicket win over Nepal at The Sevens Stadium. Sri Lanka then demonstrated resilience in a tense match against Afghanistan at the ICC Academy, narrowly achieving the target with two wickets remaining in the final over. Despite a 39-run defeat against Bangladesh in their final group match, Sri Lanka had already qualified for the semifinals, finishing second in Group B.

Tournament regulations dictate what happens if the semifinal between India and Sri Lanka is abandoned without any play. In that scenario, India Under-19 will advance to the final because they finished at the top of their group. Sri Lanka finished second in their group. Similarly, Bangladesh would advance to the final in the event of a no-result against Pakistan in the other semifinal.
