Another Avengers: Doomsday trailer has leaked, this time a Thor teaser. The audio hints at a tragic loss for the God of Thunder. Details here.
Following the recent leak of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer, a second Avengers: Doomsday trailer has surfaced online, despite Disney's efforts to keep it under wraps. This latest leak involves a Thor teaser, previously only known through a description and a single image. Now, the audio has emerged, featuring Thor in what appears to be a prayer to Odin, revealing a desperate plea:
"Of all the crowns, the kingdoms, the pride, I ask for none. Father, hear your son. I am not worthy of life, but still I beg you to let the thread lengthen. Not for thunder, not for war…let me remain long enough to see my love once more."
The implication is that Thor isn't referencing Jane Foster's potential return. Instead, the prayer likely concerns Love, his adopted daughter introduced in Love and Thunder. Love, who was played by India Rose Hemsworth, the real-life daughter of Chris Hemsworth, was last seen fighting alongside Thor with Stormbreaker. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. in the leaked trailer's visuals, Thor is now wielding the axe/hammer, suggesting Love is missing or lost.
This leak, combined with the leaked Steve Rogers spot and the Fantastic Four post-credits scene, points towards a potential storyline involving Doctor Doom abducting superhero children. Doom's interest seems particularly focused on Franklin Richards, who possesses immense power in the comics. The Steve Rogers spot prominently features Rogers with an infant. The leaked Thor trailer now confirms Love's disappearance, although she is older than a baby.
The question remains whether the plot will solely revolve around these three children (Franklin Richards, the Rogers baby, and Love), given the potential leading roles of Evans, Hemsworth, and Pascal in the film. It's worth considering which other heroes even have children. While Scott Lang has Cassie Lang, she is already a superhero. Tony Stark had a daughter, Morgan, and John Walker also has a child. Beyond those, the list becomes less clear.
Given the repeated leaks, Disney may need to reconsider its strategy of releasing these teasers exclusively in theaters. The Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer leak, which revealed unfinished elements, might explain why that particular trailer won't be officially released anytime soon. Historically, Marvel hasn't responded to similar leaks by releasing high-quality versions of trailers, as seen with Thunderbolts and Daredevil: Born Again. This could be a deliberate strategy to avoid rewarding or encouraging leakers.
