Mahima Chaudhry recalls a near-fatal accident during 'Dil Kya Kare' filming, 67 glass pieces in her face, and career hurdles after her debut in 'Pardes'.
Mahima Chaudhry, who became an overnight sensation with her debut film 'Pardes,' recently shared details about the personal and professional obstacles she has faced throughout her career. Despite the initial success, her journey was far from smooth.
Chaudhry endured a near-fatal accident on the set of the 1999 film 'Dil Kya Kare,' which starred Ajay Devgn and Kajol. During a recent interview, she revealed the extent of her injuries, stating that 67 pieces of glass had pierced her face. The accident led to a challenging recovery period.
In addition to the accident, Chaudhry faced legal issues and the loss of film opportunities due to a contractual misunderstanding. She recounted how she was taken to court and removed from several films after her debut. This was due to the misconception that she was under contract with Mukta Arts, which she says was untrue. Reflecting on these obstacles, Chaudhry told Siddharth Kannan, "After my first film, I was taken to court, I was thrown out of so many films...I had my accident, then I sat at home for a year."
