Police filed a suo motu case against Lulu Mall's management after actress Nidhhi Agerwal was mobbed by a crowd during a promotional event. Investigation ongoing.
Following an incident where actress Nidhhi Agerwal was mobbed by a large crowd, police have opened a case against the management of Lulu Mall. The incident occurred on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, during the launch of a song from Agerwal's upcoming film, 'The Raja Saab'.
The Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) police took suo motu cognizance of the event. Large numbers of fans attended the promotional event at the mall. Social media videos showed Agerwal struggling to navigate the dense crowd, as fans tried to take pictures and interact with her. The videos showed her surrounded, having difficulty reaching her vehicle, and experiencing breaches of personal space as the situation became chaotic.
According to KPHB Inspector S. Rajashekar Reddy, the event organizers did not obtain the necessary permission to hold the event. "A case is being registered against the mall management and the event organizers for holding the programme without permission," Reddy stated.
The police have initiated an investigation to determine if there were failures in security arrangements and crowd control measures.
