The battle over Sunjay Kapur's wealth intensifies as his sister reveals Priya Sachdev's alleged Rs 5 crore monthly income, contrasting with his mother's Rs 12 lakh.
The dispute over the estate of the late businessman Sunjay Kapur continues, involving his children Samaira and Kiaan (from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor) and his widow, Priya Sachdev, along with their child, Azarius. The legal proceedings have brought to light details regarding the financial status of some family members.
According to Sunjay Kapur's sister, Mandhira Kapur, Priya Sachdev allegedly receives a monthly salary of Rs 5 crore. Mandhira Kapur revealed this information on the InControversial podcast, responding to claims made by Sachdev about Sunjay Kapur's mother, Rani Kapur. Sachdev had stated that Rani Kapur received Rs 21 lakh per month from the company, in addition to personal expenses, mirroring arrangements before Sunjay's death.
Mandhira Kapur countered, stating, "When my father was alive, my mother was getting much more than what she did even when my brother was alive, and that’s the truth. It is shameful that she is only getting Rs. 12 lakhs. It was Rs. 21 lakhs, but after tax and other deductions, she used to get Rs. 13 lakhs, which has now dropped to Rs. 12 lakhs." She further emphasized the disparity, noting, "But the outsider is getting close to, I would think, Rs 3 to 5 crore every month. She is getting Rs 5 crores, and the creator of the company is getting Rs 12 lakhs."
The legal battle also includes claims from Karisma Kapoor's children, Samaira and Kiaan, who have petitioned the Delhi High Court for a share of their father's estate. They have also accused Priya Sachdev of seizing assets belonging to Sunjay Kapur, estimated to be worth Rs 30,000 crore. The case remains a subject of public interest.
