Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli shares his initial thoughts on James Cameron's 'Avatar: Fire and Ash,' praising the visuals and complex characters.
Director SS Rajamouli has offered his first review of James Cameron's upcoming film, *Avatar: Fire and Ash*. Rajamouli expressed gratitude to Cameron for the exclusive opportunity to view the movie before its release in India.
"I want to thank you because you made me the first person, or probably the only person, amongst 1.45 billion Indians to watch *Avatar: Fire and Ash*. That feels very special," Rajamouli stated.
He lauded the film, conveying his excitement while watching it. Rajamouli said, "Watching *Fire and Ash* was an absolute pleasure. Hats off to you for creating those complex sequences, visuals and characters. I can go on and on. I was like a child in the theatre watching the Wind Traders, the Ash People, the new characters. Varang was absolutely stunning."
Rajamouli also hinted at the conflicts present in *Avatar 3*. He noted that Jake Sully's internal struggle particularly resonated with him. "What really got me hooked was Jakeās moral dilemma...I think in this, it is much stronger," Rajamouli explained, noting the strength of Sully's conflict.
Furthermore, Rajamouli teased the tensions between Jake Sully and Miles Quaritch, as well as those between Neytiri and Varang. He said, "Two of the beautiful conflicts in the film were between Miles and Jake, and also, of course, between Neytiri and Varang...In *Fire and Ash*, I want to hate him, but I canāt. I want to side with him, I want to love him, but I canāt. The conversations between Jake and Miles were beautifully written; there was a lot of angst to them."
