SpaceX marked its 550th successful Falcon 9 rocket landing after launching 27 more Starlink satellites into orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base.

SpaceX has reached a major milestone, successfully landing a Falcon 9 rocket for the 550th time. The landing occurred on Sunday, following the launch of 27 Starlink satellites into orbit.

The Falcon 9 took off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 12:49 AM EST. Approximately one hour after launch, the rocket's upper stage deployed the Starlink satellites into their designated low Earth orbit.

**Mission Details**

This particular Falcon 9 booster (B1093) completed its ninth journey to space and back with this mission. Unlike the historic first Falcon 9 landing on land in 2015, this booster landed on the autonomous drone ship "Of Course I Still Love You" in the Pacific Ocean. To achieve this, the booster deployed its landing legs and used one of its nine Merlin engines. The Falcon 9's second stage is not reusable and burns up upon reentry into the atmosphere.

**Starlink Network Expansion**

The launch of these 27 satellites (Group 15-12) brings the total number of active Starlink satellites to over 9,300. Since 2019, SpaceX has launched more than 10,000 Starlink satellites. The Starlink network aims to provide broadband internet access to remote areas around the world. It also offers Wi-Fi services on airlines and cell-to-satellite connectivity for select providers.
