Sonakshi Sinha tells mom, ‘Don’t lie,’ after she claims ignorance of Zaheer Iqbal romance

Sonakshi Sinha playfully rebuked her mother, Poonam Sinha, during a recent conversation, after Poonam suggested she was unaware of Sonakshi's relationship with Zaheer Iqbal.

The exchange occurred when Farah Khan asked Poonam when she first learned about Sonakshi and Zaheer dating. Sonakshi interjected, saying she had known all along. Poonam then revealed that she became aware of the relationship after the couple's trip to see the Northern Lights, where Zaheer proposed. Farah noted that the pair had been dating for several years before that, prompting Poonam to claim, "I didn't know!"

Sonakshi responded lightheartedly, saying, “Mummy, don’t lie on camera! I told you before anyone else, you didn’t even tell Papa!” Poonam then admitted she suspected something was going on when Sonakshi began doing small favors for Zaheer.

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal officially confirmed their relationship after marrying in June of last year. They tied the knot on June 23, which was also their seventh anniversary, marking the date they began dating. Following the ceremony, they hosted a celebratory party for close friends and family.

The couple shared wedding photos with a caption that read, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other's eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife.”
