Income Tax officials raided Bastian pub in Bengaluru, owned by Shilpa Shetty. The restaurant also faces charges for violating closing time rules.
Income Tax officials conducted a raid on Wednesday at Bastian, a pub in Bengaluru owned by actress Shilpa Shetty, according to reports from PTI.
Officials from the Income Tax Department were observed at the St. Marks road location as part of the operation. The extent of the searches and the reasons behind the action were not immediately disclosed.
Separately, Bastian is also facing legal issues for allegedly operating beyond permitted hours. Police have registered a case against the establishment for hosting late-night parties in violation of regulations on December 11, PTI reported. A senior police officer stated that a case has been registered at Cubbon Park police station against the manager and staff under the Karnataka Police Act for violating the rules.
