Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold uses a specially designed, slimmer wireless charging module to fit its thin, trifolding design, supporting 15W Qi charging.
The recently released Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, the company's first phone with a trifolding design, has garnered attention for its impressively thin profile, especially considering it houses a large, 10-inch foldable screen. To achieve this slimness, Samsung incorporated particular internal components, including a newly designed wireless charging module optimized for the device's compact structure.
Witz has announced that their company developed the innovative charging module used in the Galaxy Z TriFold. According to Witz, they engineered a thinner wireless charging solution specifically to meet the spatial requirements of Samsung's pioneering trifolding phone. A representative from Witz also noted that Samsung has recognized their slimmer wireless charging module for its performance and stability, evidenced by its inclusion in the Galaxy Z TriFold.
The charging module supports wireless inductive charging up to 15W, adhering to the Wireless Power Consortium's Qi standard. This aligns with Samsung's established practice of implementing 15W wireless charging in its flagship devices over the past few years. The Galaxy Z TriFold is also Qi2 Ready certified, indicating that while it lacks integrated magnets, it can support Qi2 accessories when paired with a Qi2-ready case equipped with magnets.
