Redmi 15C 5G first look: MediaTek chip and 6,000mAh battery for Rs 12,499

Redmi has launched its latest smartphone in India, the 15C 5G. The device brings a large battery and a big display for users on a budget. The Redmi 15C 5G starts at Rs 12,499, and goes on sale from December 11. Here is your first look at the device.


The Redmi 15C 5G comes in a white box with prominent red branding. But there is no image of the phone itself on the box. The front of the box also lets you know that the 15C 5G comes with a free 33W fast charger.
Inside the box, you get the device itself, a protective case, a SIM ejector tool, and the charger. The cable is a USB Type A to Type C cable. The Redmi 15C gets a 6,000mAh battery and supports 33W wired charging. There is also 10W reverse charging if you want to charge your earphones or other accessories.
The Redmi 15C 5G unit we have is in the Moonlight Blue colour. The back is made of plastic. This colour variant has a gloss finish and shines under sunlight. The camera module is placed on the top left.
The Redmi 15C 5G weighs 211 grams. The frame is also made of plastic. Despite having a large battery, the 15C is a sleek device with a thickness of 8.05mm.
The Redmi 15C 5G gets a large 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device comes with a peak brightness of 810 nits, but gets a notch for the selfie camera.
Under the hood, the Redmi 15C 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. This is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. You also get up to 8GB of virtual RAM.
The Redmi 15C 5G runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2. The device will get 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches.
The Redmi 15C 5G starts at Rs 12,499 for the base 4GB/128GB variant. The 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB variants will cost you Rs 13,999 and 15,499 respectively. The device goes on sale on December 11. Stay tuned for the full review of the 15C 5G on India Today Tech.
