The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have finalized their squad for the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after the mini-auction held in Abu Dhabi. Venkatesh Iyer will be joining the defending champions, RCB, after they secured him for Rs 7 crore.
The bidding for Iyer started with interest from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans before RCB and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) entered the fray. RCB ultimately won the bidding war when KKR withdrew after offering Rs 6.80 crore. Iyer will now team up with his Madhya Pradesh teammate and RCB captain, Rajat Patidar.
RCB, who clinched their maiden IPL title this year by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, have also added New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy to their roster for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
The franchise has retained key players like Virat Kohli, a franchise icon, and Rajat Patidar, a reliable middle-order batsman. They have also focused on strengthening their bowling and all-rounder options.
