Actress Sreeleela ('Pushpa 2') has voiced strong concerns about AI misuse, urging social media users to reject AI-generated deepfakes and protect women.
Sreeleela, known for her role in 'Pushpa 2,' has issued a powerful appeal to social media users, urging them to stand against AI-generated misinformation and emphasizing the need to differentiate between the responsible use and abuse of technology. Her statement highlights the serious safety risks that the misuse of AI poses, particularly for women working in the film industry.
The actress expressed her concerns in a post on X (formerly Twitter), joining other artists who have recently spoken out against the misuse of artificial intelligence. She wrote, "I put my hands together and request every social media user not to support AI-generated nonsense. There is a difference between using and abusing technology. Advancements in technology are meant to simplify life, not complicate it, in my opinion."
Sreeleela pointed out the increasing safety concerns for actors and film industry professionals due to the misuse of AI. She stressed the importance of a safe and respectful work environment, stating, "Every girl out there is a daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend, or colleague, even if she chooses art as one of her professions. We wish to be part of an industry that spreads joy, with the confidence that we are in a protected environment."
She also mentioned that her demanding work schedule often keeps her away from online activity, and she thanked those who brought these issues to her attention. Sreeleela described the misuse of technology as “disturbing and devastating,” echoing the sentiments of many in the film industry. She concluded her message by expressing her hope that authorities will take action to prevent such abuse on the internet in the future.
On the work front, Sreeleela is currently involved in several projects, including director Sudha Kongara’s 'Parasakthi,' alongside Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, and Atharvaa, and Harish Shankar’s 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh,' where she will star opposite Pawan Kalyan.
