PESB Recommends Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra for CMD of Power Grid Corporation

New Delhi – The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has put forward Shri Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra as their choice for Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID). POWERGRID is classified as a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise.

The recommendation occurred during PESB Meeting No. 118/2025, which took place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 1:30 PM.

**The Chosen Candidate:**

* Shri Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra, currently serving as Director (Projects) at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.

**Other Interviewed Candidates:**

The PESB interviewed a total of nine applicants for the CMD position, including:

• Shri Rajil Srivastava – Executive Director (Asset Management), POWERGRID
• Shri Pankaj Pandey – Executive Director (TBCB), POWERGRID
• Shri Akhilesh Pathak – Executive Director (Project Management), POWERGRID
• Shri L. K. Khajkumar – Executive Director (CMD Cell – Corporate Planning), POWERGRID
• Shri Alok Kumar Sharma – Executive Director (Northern Region–1), POWERGRID
• Smt. Ragini Advani – Director (Finance), Ircon International Limited
• Shri Pankaj Kumar Sharma – Director (Production), National Aluminium Company Limited
• Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh – Chairman & Managing Director, Bridge and Roof Company (India) Limited

The PESB's recommendation will now go to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. The appointment, once approved, is expected to reinforce POWERGRID's leadership.
