Punjab Kings finalized their squad at the IPL 2026 auction. See the complete list of players bought and retained as they aim for the title.
After finishing as runners-up last season, Punjab Kings entered the IPL 2026 mini-auction with the second-smallest budget of the ten teams. With only Rs 11.50 crore available, they were initially hesitant to make big moves.
Their first acquisition came during the accelerated round when they secured Australian batting all-rounder Cooper Connolly for Rs 3 crore. Connolly is a left-handed batsman who bowls slow left-arm orthodox spin. Kolkata Knight Riders also showed interest, bidding from Connolly's base price of Rs 2 crore, but Punjab Kings ultimately won the bidding war.
Later, the franchise added Ben Dwarshuis to their roster for Rs 4.40 crore.
Led by Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings had a strong 2025 season, reaching the IPL final for the first time in 11 years. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. they narrowly lost the championship match to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by just six runs.
Ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, PBKS opted for minimal changes, retaining most of their existing players. The most notable departure was Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, whose performance in 2025 did not meet expectations, and who suffered an injury mid-season. Wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis was also released.
