Palaash Mucchal deletes proposal video with Smriti Mandhana after calling off wedding

Music composer Palaash Muchhal and cricketer Smriti Mandhana have announced the cancellation of their wedding, which was planned for November 24. Following their public statements, the music director-singer deleted his proposal video from his Instagram page. A day after their wedding was abruptly halted, Smriti Mandhana deleted photos and videos taken during their pre-wedding festivities.
After the announcement about calling off their wedding on December 7, Palaash Muchhal deleted the widely shared proposal video and a World Cup victory celebration clip featuring Mandhana from his account. Smriti Mandhana also removed all photos and videos related to the engagement and pre-wedding festivities. While Palaash has not deleted all posts, the remaining ones continue to attract comments from social media users.

The wedding was initially postponed due to a health emergency involving Mandhana’s father, who was hospitalised on her wedding day. Soon after, Palaash Muchhal also faced a health issue. These developments led to uncertainty and public speculation about the event.
In a statement released on Sunday, Palash Muchhal wrote, “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship (sic).” He addressed the scrutiny, saying, “It's been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me. It's the most difficult phase of my life, and I will deal with it gracefully, holding on to my beliefs. I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified (sic).”
This statement came weeks after screenshots suggesting Palaash Muchhal allegedly cheating on Smriti Mandhana went viral amid spculations about the wedding being called off.
Mandhana also issued a statement on Sunday, which read, “Over the past few weeks, there has been plenty of speculation around my life, and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person, and I would like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off (sic).”
She appealed to the public for understanding and requested for privacy. “I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace (sic),” Mandhana said.
Mandhana also emphasised her professional focus, adding, “I believe there is a higher purpose driving us all, and for me, that has always been representing my country at the highest level. I hope to continue to play and win trophies for India for as long as possible, and that is where my focus will forever be. Thank you for all your support. It's time to move forward (sic).”
Both have indicated their intention to move forward personally and professionally.
