Karthi's 'Vaa Vaathiyaar' faces uncertainty after its release was delayed due to financial problems, potentially jeopardizing its OTT deal.
The planned theatrical release of Karthi's film, 'Vaa Vaathiyaar,' also known as 'Annagaru Vostaru,' has been unexpectedly postponed. The movie was originally slated to hit screens on December 12, coinciding with the release of 'Akhanda 2.'
The sudden postponement, attributed to financial difficulties, has reportedly cast a shadow over the film's agreement with Amazon Prime Video for post-theatrical streaming rights. According to Pink Villa, the streaming platform might reconsider the deal if the movie's release is delayed beyond the current month.
Currently, the filmmakers are reportedly considering a Christmas 2025 release window. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. an official announcement regarding the new release date is still pending. 'Vaa Vaathiyaar' is directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, stars Krithi Shetty, and is produced by Studio Green. The film's music is composed by Santosh Narayanan.
