OnePlus has officially announced its new Turbo series of smartphones, following rumors that began circulating last October. Details regarding the first phone in the lineup leaked later the same month.
Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, revealed the new series on Weibo, commemorating the company's 12th anniversary. According to Li, the Turbo line will inherit the powerful performance characteristics of OnePlus flagship phones, while also offering class-leading battery life and a superior gaming experience.
Li also stated that OnePlus aims to achieve the highest sales growth among smartphone brands in China by the end of 2025, projecting a 40% increase over 2024. The company intends to enhance mobile gaming through the Turbo series in the coming year, delivering an optimal experience to a wider audience.
Leaks have suggested that the initial OnePlus Turbo device will feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a "1.5K" resolution. Powering the smartphone is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, along with a substantial 8,000 mAh battery supporting 100W wired charging. The rear camera setup is rumored to include a 50MP primary lens and an 8MP ultrawide lens.
