Rumors suggest the OnePlus 15s may launch in India soon, boasting a large battery, powerful processor, and compact form factor. Here's what the leaks say.
Fresh off the launch of the OnePlus 15R and OnePlus Pad Go 2 in India, rumors are already circulating about the potential arrival of another OnePlus 15 series phone. Leaks suggest the OnePlus 15s could be hitting the Indian market soon.
Recent reports indicate the OnePlus 15s has received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification, bearing the model number CPH2793. This certification often precedes a product launch, leading to speculation that the phone could debut in India as early as January.
Notably, the OnePlus 13s initially launched in China as the OnePlus 13T during April before its global release, including India, in June. The 13s aimed to compete in the compact flagship category, rivaling devices like the Vivo X200 FE.
The current speculation suggests OnePlus might follow a similar pattern, launching the 15s in China before introducing it to the Indian market. The company has also confirmed its work on a new Turbo series for China, which could eventually make its way to India, with a specific focus on catering to gamers.
OnePlus 15s: What's Known So Far
The leaked BIS certification hints at a possible 6.31-inch BOE X3 OLED display for the OnePlus 15s, featuring a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, mirroring the OnePlus 15R and OnePlus 15. Powering the device could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, Qualcomm's top-tier chip also found in the OnePlus 15.
A significant feature could be its large 7,500mAh battery, potentially making it the OnePlus phone with the largest battery capacity to date. The phone may also support 100W wired fast charging. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. like its predecessor, wireless charging might be absent.
Regarding cameras, the phone is rumored to incorporate a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor, identical to those used in the OnePlus 15 and 15R, along with a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens. Similar to previous models, an ultra-wide-angle lens might be omitted.
Additional expected features include an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor and IP68/IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. The device is also said to have a metal frame and measure approximately 8.5mm in thickness.
The OnePlus 15s is anticipated to run on OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16, incorporating AI features and Plus Mind integration with Gemini.
For context, the OnePlus 13s launched in India with a starting price of ₹54,999 for the base model and ₹59,999 for the higher-end configuration. Given the current memory chip shortages affecting the tech industry, the OnePlus 15s could potentially face a price increase upon its eventual release in India.
