OnePlus is preparing to launch the OnePlus 15R in India.
After launching the OnePlus 15 last month, the Chinese smartphone-maker OnePlus is now getting ready to bring its more affordable yet performance-heavy sibling, the OnePlus 15R, to India. The launch is just around the corner and the tech giant has already started revealing some of the major features. From a massive battery upgrade to a brand-new Snapdragon chipset and a smooth display, the 15R is going to be one of the strongest mid-premium contenders of 2026. If you’re curious about what’s coming, here’s a closer look at everything you should know before it hits the market.
OnePlus 15R: Specifications (Expected And Confirmed)
The brand has confirmed that the phone will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, making it the first smartphone globally to launch with this chipset.
The phone is tipped to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and peak brightness touching 3,600 nits. Powering everything is a huge 7400 mAh battery, which is one of the biggest batteries we’ve seen on a OnePlus device. It is likely to support 80W fast charging, which should refill that monstrous battery quickly enough. Reports also suggest an IP69K/IP69/IP68/IP66 rating.
When it comes to cameras, the phone is expected to carry a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 primary sensor with OIS, paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. On the front, a 32-megapixel selfie shooter is reportedly included. OnePlus has also confirmed that the 15R will be able to record 4K video at 120fps, a feature previously reserved for the more expensive OnePlus 15.

In terms of design, the 15R may measure 8.3mm in thickness and weigh around 215 grams, as for colours, the phone may arrive in Black and a new Green finish.

The OnePlus 15R is expected to be priced around Rs 44,999 in India. The company has confirmed that the OnePlus 15R will launch in India on December 17, alongside the OnePlus Pad Go 2.
