OnePlus 15R is set to launch in India on December 17, 2025, with a livestreamed event in Bengaluru. Heres an in-depth look at confirmed and rumored specs, including display, chipset, camera, and battery details.

We already have the flagship OnePlus 15, and now it’s time for its affordable yet powerful sibling — the OnePlus 15R. The OnePlus 15R is scheduled to make its India debut on December 17, 2025. The smartphone will launch alongside the new OnePlus Pad Go 2 at an offline event in Bengaluru, which will also be livestreamed for global audiences.
While OnePlus has kept everything under wraps and only revealed the design, leaks and rumours have already hinted at what we can expect. The OnePlus 15R is rumoured to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6T, which launched in China on December 3. Here’s everything we’re expecting from the OnePlus 15R
OnePlus 15R expected features
The OnePlus 15R is shaping up to bring in major upgrades over the 13R, especially in terms of performance, battery tech, and durability. OnePlus has officially confirmed a 7,400mAh battery, which is not only larger than last year’s model but also bigger than the battery inside the flagship OnePlus 15. On the charging side, the OnePlus 15R is expected to arrive with 80W fast charging.
Under the hood, powering the 15R will be the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, making it the first smartphone globally to launch with this processor. OnePlus says it co-developed and co-optimised the platform with Qualcomm over 24 months to deliver faster speeds and better efficiency.
Early benchmark leaks are also backing up this claim. The device was spotted on Geekbench with scores hinting at flagship-level capability, paired with 12GB or 16GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. The smartphone will run OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16, right out of the box.
On the front, the OnePlus 15R is expected to boast a big flat display. OnePlus has confirmed to launch the 15R with 165Hz refresh rate, putting it in the same league as the OnePlus 15. If the device follows the OnePlus Ace 6T (the model it is widely expected to be based on), the India variant could feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD+ resolution and a fast touch response.
Durability will also be a highlight of this flagship sibling. OnePlus has confirmed that the 15R will carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings — a first for the R-series — giving the phone protection against dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure water jets. Leaked renders and teasers show a square camera module with dual lenses, a metal frame, a punch-hole display, and colour options of Charcoal Black and Minty Green.
On the camera front, while the company hasn’t detailed the exact sensors, reports and earlier listings suggest a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor. The front camera is expected to be 32 megapixels, although some leaks point to 16 megapixels — the final details will only be revealed at the launch event.
OnePlus 15R India pricing
Pricing is still under wraps, but the OnePlus 15R is widely tipped to sit below the OnePlus 15, which starts at Rs 72,999. According to rumours, the 15R could cost around Rs 45,000, though the final number could shift depending on component costs and taxes. For context, the Ace 6T — the Chinese version — starts at roughly Rs 33,000 before local adjustments.
