OnePlus 15R India launch event in 11 days, here is how much it may cost

Updated on 05 Dec 2025 Category: Technology

The OnePlus 15R's India launch event will take place in 11 days. Since the announcement is almost here, what could be its price in India? We try to break it down based on the China pricing, OnePlus’ past strategy, and the overall positioning of the R series.

The OnePlus 15R is gearing up for its India debut on December 17, which is just 11 days from now. The phone is expected to be a slightly toned-down version of the flagship OnePlus 15, which arrived only a few weeks ago. Since the device has already launched in China as the OnePlus Ace 6T, we have a fair idea of what to expect in terms of specifications. What still isn’t clear, however, is the India price. So, we try to break it down based on the China pricing, OnePlus’ past strategy, and the overall positioning of the R series.

In China, the OnePlus Ace 6T (which will be the 15R in India) starts at CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs 33,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. For context, its predecessor, the OnePlus Ace 5, sold as the OnePlus 13R in India, launched in China at CNY 2,299 (about Rs 26,830). That means the new version has seen a price jump in China, and the same trend could be seen in India as well. But as always, local pricing won’t match China’s due to customs, taxes, and market positioning.
In India, the OnePlus 13R arrived at Rs 42,999. The 15R is expected to stay under Rs 50,000, mainly because the company is already selling the OnePlus 13s at Rs 54,999, which launched mid-2025 and is still relatively fresh. OnePlus is unlikely to push the 15R too close to the 13s because it doesn’t want its own lineup competing internally. That said, the 15R is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a toned-down version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 used in the premium OnePlus 15. For comparison, the OnePlus 13s packs last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It will be interesting to see whether the 15R can match or beat the 13s in real-world performance.
For those who want to know the differences between the Elite and non-Elite Gen 5 chips, the CPU clock speeds are the biggest giveaway. The standard 8 Gen 5 runs at 2x 3.8GHz + 6x 3.32GHz, while the Elite version pushes it to 2x 4.61GHz + 6x 3.63GHz. Both are technically listed with the same Adreno 840 GPU, but the performance won’t be identical. The non-Elite version also misses out on the High-Performance Memory, 18MB of dedicated memory that boosts bandwidth and reduces latency.
As far as pricing goes, even if OnePlus raises the price of the 15R compared to the 13R, the brand will need to keep it under Rs 50,000 to appeal to buyers who want strong performance without crossing into flagship territory. That has always been the core idea behind the R series. However, the prices have climbed with every new release, and it remains to be seen whether buyers will stick with OnePlus or switch to more aggressively priced, performance-focused phones from rival brands.
With no solid leaks yet about the India price, OnePlus could impress fans by retaining the 13R’s Rs 42,999 price tag for the 15R. It is important to keep in mind that OnePlus hasn't yet confirmed the India price, so people are advised to take these details with a pinch of salt.
