Nissan reveals the exterior design of its new sub-4 metre MPV, the Gravite, slated for a January 2026 release. The Gravite is based on the Renault Triber.
Nissan is gearing up to introduce three new vehicles in India, including the Tekton compact SUV, a seven-seater SUV, and a sub-4-meter MPV, as part of its strategy to boost its market presence. Having already previewed the Tekton, Nissan has now unveiled the exterior design of the sub-4-meter MPV, confirming its name as the Nissan Gravite. The Gravite is expected to hit showrooms by March 2026, following its January 2026 launch.
Based on the Renault Triber platform, the Gravite features a distinct design. Here's a closer look at its exterior:
**Exterior Design Details**
* **Front:** The front showcases a bold grille with a honeycomb mesh pattern, prominently displaying the Nissan logo. A 'GRAVITE' badge is positioned on the bonnet, reminiscent of the Nissan Tekton. Slim LED daytime running lights (DRLs) are interconnected by a light bar, creating a modern aesthetic. The bonnet's flat design incorporates creases, contributing to a muscular, SUV-like appearance. The bumper integrates C-shaped silver inserts on the sides for added character.
* **Side:** While the complete side profile remains under wraps, visible elements include pull-type door handles and elevated roof rails. The vehicle appears to sport dual-tone alloy wheels.
* **Rear:** The rear features tail-lights that are not connected, but are separated by a thin chrome strip that connects them to the Nissan logo in the center. The 'GRAVITE' lettering is neatly placed on the tailgate's lower section. Similar to the front, the rear bumper design is simple, incorporating a contrasting C-shaped element.
**Interior and Features (Expected)**
Although Nissan has not yet revealed the interior, it is anticipated to differ from the Triber to establish a unique identity for the Gravite. Feature expectations include an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, push-button start-stop, manual AC with rear vents, remote keyless entry, a wireless phone charger, and a 6-speaker sound system.
Standard safety features are expected to comprise six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera.
**Powertrain Expectations**
The Nissan Gravite is likely to share its engine with the Renault Triber, including an automated manual transmission (AMT) option. A 1-litre turbo-petrol engine could also be offered.
