Nissan has officially confirmed that its all-new compact MPV for India will be revealed on 18th December 2025. This upcoming model, spotted multiple times on test across India, will be sharing platform with Renault Triber and will become the second badge-engineered product under the Renault–Nissan alliance after the Kiger–Magnite pairing. With its debut now scheduled, Nissan is preparing to enter the sub-compact MPV space with a fresh brand identity and a more feature-rich offering.
Exterior Design – Familiar Silhouette
Although heavily camouflaged, earlier spy shots give a good indication of the MPV’s design direction. While the overall silhouette remains similar to the Triber, Nissan has reworked the front fascia extensively. The MPV sports a larger grille with hexagonal inserts, new headlamp units and C-shaped accents integrated into the front bumper for a more aggressive, modern look.
The model also features functional roof rails and newly designed alloy wheels, helping it visually stand apart from its Renault sibling. Minor changes to the rear bumper and tail-lamp detailing are also expected.
Interior & Features
The interior has not been revealed yet, but given the shared platform, the layout is expected to be largely similar to Triber. However, Nissan will introduce brand-specific touches for differentiation. Expected features include a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, cooled center storage, and sliding/reclining second-row seats. The MPV will also offer a modular three-row seating layout, enabling 5-, 6- or 7-seater configurations depending on user needs.
Engine & Performance
Powering the new Nissan MPV will be the familiar 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72 hp and 96 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox, identical to the Triber. Nissan is likely to tune the engine and gearbox for better drivability, but the core mechanical package remains unchanged to maintain price competitiveness.
Launch Timeline & Expected Pricing
Nissan’s new MPV will be unveiled on 18th December, with prices expected to be announced in early 2026. Positioned alongside the Renault Triber, the Nissan MPV will be only the second offering in the sub-compact MPV segment, targeting buyers looking for an affordable, spacious and flexible 7-seater. Prices are expected to be in a similar range as the Triber, which currently retails between Rs 5.76 lakh and Rs 8.6 lakh (ex-showroom).
