Positioned as a lifestyle-focused offering, the new Mini Convertible brings open-top motoring, distinctive design and strong performance to the Indian market

BMW India has officially launched the all-new Mini Convertible in the country, further strengthening its niche premium portfolio. Introduced as a completely built-up unit (CBU), the open-top model is now available for booking at all BMW India authorised dealerships, with deliveries commencing immediately. Positioned as a lifestyle-focused offering, the new Mini Convertible brings open-top motoring, distinctive design and strong performance to the Indian market.
Open-Top Driving With Classic Mini Design
Staying true to Mini’s iconic design philosophy, the new Convertible features classic styling cues such as round LED headlamps, a redesigned front grille and compact proportions with short overhangs. The soft-top roof can be fully opened in just 18 seconds, even at speeds of up to 30 kmph, while it also supports a sunroof-like partially open mode. When the roof is down, the boot offers 160 litres of space, which expands to 215 litres with the roof closed.
The car is offered in four exterior colour options – British Racing Green, Chili Red, Sunny Side Yellow and Ocean Wave Green – paired with contrasting mirror caps. At the rear, vertically aligned LED tail lamps and a wide stance underline the sporty character of the Convertible.
Premium Interior With Latest Tech
Inside, the all-new Mini Convertible gets a clean and minimalist cabin layout inspired by the classic Mini. The highlight is the round OLED touchscreen, called the Mini Interaction Unit, which combines the instrument cluster and infotainment system into a single display. Running Mini Operating System 9, the interface offers smartphone-like usability, voice commands via “Hey Mini”, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and connected features.
Other notable features include a head-up display, Harman Kardon surround sound system, wireless charging, digital key functionality, multiple Mini Experience Modes, sports seats with electric adjustment, and extensive connected-car services. The cabin is designed to deliver a premium and engaging driving environment while retaining Mini’s playful character.
Performance and Driving Experience
Powering the Mini Convertible S is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling the car to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 240 kmph. Mini’s signature go-kart handling remains a key highlight, supported by multiple drive modes including Go-Kart, Green and Vivid modes.
Safety, Warranty and Pricing
Safety equipment includes multiple airbags, ADAS Level 1, ABS with cornering brake control, dynamic stability control, rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and parking assistance. The car is priced at Rs 58.5 lakh ex-showroom, making it one of the most expensive Mini models on sale in India.
The Mini Convertible comes with a standard two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, roadside assistance, and optional service and warranty extension packages of up to 10 years. Mini India is also offering customised finance options, including assured buyback schemes, to attract buyers looking for a premium convertible experience.
