The Hyundai Verna facelift has been spied during testing, revealing design changes like vertical headlamps and interior updates. Expected launch: early 2026.
Hyundai is gearing up to launch a refreshed version of the Verna sedan, which has been spotted undergoing testing. This model is notable as one of Hyundai's safest cars, achieving a 5-star safety rating in Global NCAP testing. (The Hyundai Tucson, previously the safest SUV, has been discontinued in India.)
Recent spy photos offer a clearer look at the upcoming changes to the Verna facelift. The most noticeable update is the shift to vertically stacked headlamps, replacing the current horizontal design. Design revisions are also expected for the front and rear bumpers, as well as the LED daytime running lights. The spy shots also reveal a new alloy wheel design.
Interior updates are also anticipated, based on earlier spy shots. The Verna facelift may incorporate the new steering wheel design from the recently launched Hyundai Venue. Furthermore, it could feature a dual 12.3-inch screen setup, also seen in the Venue. A revised interior layout with improved materials is also possible. The updated Verna is expected to retain existing features such as an electric sunroof, ambient lighting, Level 2 ADAS, heated and ventilated front seats, a powered driver seat, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The powertrain options are likely to remain the same, with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine (114bhp and 144Nm) and a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine (158bhp and 253Nm) expected to carry over. The current Verna is priced between Rs 12.73 Lakh and Rs 20.12 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The facelift is expected to bring a price increase, potentially ranging from Rs 13 Lakh to Rs 21.50 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Hyundai is expected to launch the Verna facelift in the first half of 2026.
