Messi and Tendulkar Share Stage as Wankhede Stadium Creates History

Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, already a legendary venue, witnessed another historic moment on Sunday, December 14, 2025, as Lionel Messi and Sachin Tendulkar appeared together at a special event.

The event was Messi's third stop on his GOAT India tour, which includes four cities. During his one-hour appearance at Wankhede, Messi interacted with young football players, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Indian football star Sunil Chhetri, and various celebrities from the entertainment industry.

Adding to the occasion, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the launch of 'Project Mahadeva.' This initiative aims to identify and nurture young football talent throughout the state.

Throughout the event, the stadium echoed with chants of “Messi… Messi” from the enthusiastic crowd.
