A delegation of rabbis and community leaders from Melbourne traveled to Sydney to provide support and comfort to the Jewish community after the recent attack.

Following the recent tragic attack in Sydney, a delegation of rabbis and community leaders from Melbourne journeyed to the city to offer support and encouragement to the Jewish community there.

The group included Rabbi Shlomo Kohn, the rabbi of the Adas Yisroel community in Melbourne, Rabbi Mendel Zirkind, the new rabbi of the Yeshiva Centre Anash community, and Rabbi Yossi Fromer, an educator and Maggid Shiur in Melbourne.

During their visit, the delegation met with Rabbi Yehoram Ulman, the father-in-law of Rabbi Eli Schlanger HY”D, the shliach who was murdered, and who also directs Chabad of Bondi. They conveyed their condolences and offered words of comfort.

The Melbourne rabbis also met with members of ZAKA who had traveled from Israel to assist with preparing the bodies of the kedoshim for burial. The delegation visited Rabbi Schlanger’s grave and spent time with his family and community leaders, offering strength during this difficult time. They also spoke with Sydney shluchim Rabbi Dovid Slavin and Rabbi Mendel Kastel.

Additionally, the delegation visited Yanky Super, a 24-year-old man from Melbourne who was injured in the attack. Super, who was struck by a bullet at the Chanukah event, is currently recovering in the hospital.
