Who is Abar Subramanya?
According to Abar Subramanya’s LinkedIn profile, he joins Apple after a brief period of around 5 months at Microsoft as the corporate vice president of AI. Interestingly, this was his second stint at the Redmond giant, having initially been an intern in 2005.
But Subramanya has spent the bulk of his career at Google. He started his journey at the company as a staff research scientist in 2009 and moved up to the VP of engineering. During his time at Google, he led the development of the Gemini AI assistant. He left Google for Microsoft in June this year.
Where did Abar Subramanya study?
Abar Subramanya completed his Bachelor's in Engineering (B.E.) from Bangalore University in 2001. After this, he joined IBM as a software engineer for a 10-month stint, before taking a career gap. He then completed his PhD from the University of Wisconsin.
