Madhuri Dixit has added her voice to the chorus of praise for Akshaye Khanna's portrayal of Rehman Dakait in Aditya Dhar's hit film, 'Dhurandhar.' She reflected on their past work together, emphasizing Khanna's consistent talent.
The film 'Dhurandhar' continues to be a box office success, garnering both critical acclaim and strong ticket sales. This has led to considerable anticipation among fans for the already announced sequel.
Dixit shared her thoughts on Khanna's performance during an interview with The Sunny G on YouTube. She expressed her happiness for Khanna, acknowledging his consistent excellence across numerous roles. Dixit recalled working with him early in his career, noting that he impressed her even then, despite her already established stardom. She remarked on his growth as an actor, stating that he was amazing then and continues to be so now.
Dixit and Khanna previously shared screen time in the films 'Aaja Nachle' (2007) and 'Mohabbat' (1997).
Meanwhile, Dixit is set to appear in the upcoming series 'Mrs Deshpande,' directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, where she will play a serial killer alongside Siddharth Chandekar.
'Dhurandhar,' directed by Aditya Dhar and released on December 5, 2025, features a star-studded cast including Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. The film has enjoyed considerable box office success, reportedly earning ₹367 crore in India and crossing ₹400 crore worldwide. The sequel is slated for release on March 19, 2026, where it will compete with 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups,' starring Yash.
