Communit player ratings from Chelsea’s “bad day” in Leeds

1. PEDRO NETO (6.5, sub)
Neto came on at half-time and immediately changed the game. On a better day, his goal starts an epic comeback from two goals down, with perhaps a winner arriving in the final 5-10 minutes to truly stick it to the locals. Alas, this was not one of our better days. In fact, it was one of our worst.
But Neto still made an impact, continuing his welcome habit of doing so regularly. This was Neto’s 5th Premier League goal of the season already, matching his previous career high (with Wolves, back in 2020-21).
2. ALEJANDRO GARNACHO (5.9, sub)
Neto may have gotten the goal (assisted by Jamie Gittens), but it was fellow sub Garnacho, who was perhaps our most dangerous attacking player, setting up chance after chance after chance from the left wing after coming on halfway through the second half, alongside Cole Palmer.
Those two combined to come very close to an equalizer, which perhaps would’ve set us up to complete the above-mentioned comeback script. Alas, it was not our day. It was, in fact, a very bad day.
(Incidentally, Palmer’s now lost three games in a row and we have yet to win any of the five games he’s played in so far this season. Weird.)
3. MARC CUCURELLA (5.5)
The highest rated starter. Cucu tends to be good even on bad days, as the best fullbacks usually are.
GOOD (6.5-7.4): Neto (6.5, sub)
AVERAGE (5.5-6.4): Garnacho (5.9, sub), Cucurella (5.5)
SUBPAR (4.5-5.4): Gusto (5.1), Gittens (5.0), Enzo (4.9), Guiu (4.9, sub), Chalobah (4.8), Palmer (4.8, sub), Sánchez (4.8)
BAD (3.5-4.4): Santos (4.4), Estêvão (3.9), João Pedro (3.8), Delap (3.6)
TERRIBLE (2.5-3.4): Badiashile (3.3)
CRY UNCLE (1.0-2.4): Tosin (2.0)
