Kapil Sharma's new movie, 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2', garnered an estimated Rs. 3 crore on its first Sunday, representing a modest 10 percent increase. The film's opening day saw a collection of Rs. 2 crore, followed by Rs. 2.75 crore on its second day. Overall, the comedy film's opening weekend concluded with a total of Rs. 7.75 crore over three days, falling short of expectations.
The movie's box office performance was impacted by the strong performance of Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar'. 'Dhurandhar' is currently performing exceptionally well and is expected to have a successful second weekend. A different release date might have resulted in a better outcome for the Kapil Sharma film.
Furthermore, the movie received mixed reviews, which affected its box office potential. The original 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon,' released in 2015, earned Rs. 7.65 crore on its opening day, surpassing the sequel's entire opening weekend earnings even without adjusting for inflation. The first film had a successful run, earning Rs. 24 crore in its first weekend and eventually achieving a HIT status with a total collection of Rs. 42 crore.
That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. the current landscape has shifted. What worked in the past is not resonating as strongly now. 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2' needs to demonstrate significant growth, even if at a lower scale, to reach a respectable total. Otherwise, its fate may already be determined.
'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2' is directed by Anukalp Goswami. The cast includes Kapil Sharma, Ayesha Khan, Parul Gulati, Tridha Choudhury, Hira Warina, Manjot Singh, Asrani, and Sushant Singh.
