The IPL 2026 auction concluded with the ten teams spending a total of Rs 215.45 crore on 77 players. Of these, 29 are international players. While Australia's Cameron Green received the highest bid ever for an overseas player in IPL history at Rs 25.20 crore from the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Chennai Super Kings' acquisitions of Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma for Rs 14.20 crore each truly stunned onlookers. Other uncapped players who became crorepatis at the auction included Kashmir's Aquib Dar (DC, Rs 8.40 crore) and Mangesh Yadav (RCB, Rs 5.20 crore). Some of the other top buys were Matheesha Pathirana (KKR, Rs 18 crore), Liam Livingstone (SRH, Rs 13 crore), Mustafizur Rahman (KKR, Rs 9.20 crore), Josh Inglis (LSG, Rs 8.60 crore), Ravi Bishnoi (RR, Rs 7.20 crore), and Venkatesh Iyer (RCB, Rs 7 crore).

Green's acquisition marked a world record for any overseas player in any franchise competition. KKR and CSK engaged in an intense bidding war for the Australian all-rounder, but ultimately KKR, owned by Shah Rukh Khan, secured him for Rs 25.20 crore. He surpassed his fellow Australian Mitchell Starc (Rs 24.75 crore, IPL 2024, KKR) as the most expensive foreign player. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. due to IPL rules, Green's actual earnings will be capped at Rs 18 crore.
