IndiGo has announced it anticipates paying out more than Rs 500 crore in compensation to customers impacted by a week of flight disruptions that began on December 2nd. The compensation will go to passengers whose flights were canceled within 24 hours of their scheduled departure and to those who experienced significant stranding at certain airports.
The airline stated that it is focused on streamlining the refund process, noting that most refunds have already been processed. IndiGo plans to contact affected customers in January to arrange compensation payments.
In a statement, IndiGo emphasized its commitment to a transparent and easy compensation process. The airline aims to ensure hassle-free disbursal of funds to eligible customers. IndiGo teams are currently prioritizing the efficient processing of refunds for all affected customers, with a target completion date of December 2025.
