India vs South Africa 3rd ODI Highlights: Quinton de Kock’s blazing century was not enough as India unleashed a stunning comeback to bowl South Africa out for 270 in the series-deciding third ODI. De Kock struck a superb 106 off 89 deliveries with eight fours and six massive sixes. His acceleration in the middle overs had the visitors eyeing another 300-plus total, which would have made it three big scores in a row this series.
But India’s bowlers flipped the script. Kuldeep Yadav led the fightback with a brilliant 4 for 41, claiming his ninth four-wicket haul in ODIs. His dramatic 39th over removed Dewald Brevis and Marco Jansen in quick succession, opening the gates for a collapse. Seamer Prasidh Krishna complemented him perfectly, taking four wickets of his own to dismantle South Africa’s lower order.
Earlier, KL Rahul had a quirky change in routine at the toss today. He tossed the coin with his left hand and it finally worked. India snapped their astonishing run of 20 consecutive lost tosses, winning one for the first time since the 2023 World Cup semifinal in Mumbai. Rahul immediately chose to field in the series decider, though he admitted that dew in Vizag usually arrives later than in Ranchi or Raipur, making the decision a calculated gamble rather than a foregone conclusion.
All eyes will once again be on senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Kohli has been in great form so far, and India will hope he scores his third straight century to put pressure on South Africa. The Proteas have already shown how dangerous they can be – they matched the record for the highest successful chase against India in the second ODI and they also came close to chasing a total of 350 runs in the first match.
